No animal or living organism was harmed in the making of this beautiful round decorative wall cross. Inlay is the technique of inserting pieces of contrasting material into depressions made on a base object. The production of pearl inlay furniture and decorative items is a 3-step process and requires up to a month to create each piece. First the fragments of mother of pearl shells are shaped delicately. Then these intricate shapes are affixed onto a MDF frame in a detailed and stylised pattern. After this, colored resin is filled around the shaped pieces of MOP to craft the background. The mother of pearl shells are offset by striking color of the resin to create an exotic looking rustic piece of home decor.
