Hot Pepper Chiltepin A native of North and South America, chiletpin is referred to as the mother of all peppers due to the fact that it is believed to be the oldest and hottest of all peppers. The pepper pods are round or pea shaped and measure around a half inch in length and width. While chiletpins are very hot their intensity fades quickly. Can be used in hot sauces or dried as a spice. Peppers need a long, warm growing season and grow slowly during cool periods.
