Chives will mature with hollow, thin leaves that have a delicate flavoring much like very mild onions. Chives are delicious in salads and for flavoring soups and omelets. Because of the plants attractive cloverlike blossoms, they are often used for edging flowerbeds. If you desire denser growth we recommend continual harvesting. If you prefer a very mild taste, harvest while in bloom.
